Baby Whale Bliss | Witsand, Western Cape

There’s nothing nicer than escaping the horribly overcrowded beaches we all know about and heading towards the more quieter, unknown beaches and resorts such as Witsand. Its a small coastal town at the mouth of the Breede River in the beautiful Western Cape. Witsand is also a popular fishing- and kite- and windsurfing beach and each year the beach is the end for the Heidelburg to Witsand marathon and half-marathon road running race.

The town provides holidaymakers with with wonderful sandy beaches which are surrounded by that typical Cape Fynbos. Its a wonderful to fish and swim and enjoy nature and each year the Southern Right Whales come to these shores to calve. The area also has fantastic hiking trails which gives you the chance to see some spectacular birdlife.
