Bethesda Tower

People come to Nieu Bethesda for heaps of different reasons, simply because this Karoo town is full of magic. Whether your interest is in fossils, horse riding, Karoo lamb chops, game viewing, bushman paintings, swimming in a concrete dam with a windmill spinning in the breeze or sitting on a Karoo stoep with coffee and rusks, you are in for an unusual time. Of course the mysterious  Owl House which Helen Martin transformed into a weird and wonderful display of artworks is a huge draw card, and Bethesda Tower is unusual bed and breakfast accommodation which travellers love to stay at while in Nieu Bethesda.

The Bethesda Tower is at a lively arts centre and is three stories high. You can actually see the artists busy at work or you can even take in a performance at the outdoor theatre. The Tower offers different accommodation suited for couples or families and promises superb views from the Tower balcony. The Priory offers accommodation for seven people and the beds are covered in Karoo quilts.  There is the Tower Restaurant which is open every day and offers delights such as Karoo lamb, but there are lighter meals served as well. There is also a quaint stone courtyard with its own braai area.
