Karoo National Park | near Beaufort West, Western Cape

The awesome and utterly unique Karoo National Park is found in the area of Beaufort West in the Western Cape. Its isolation and the desert animals that live there have made it a haven for people escaping the rat race. The Karoo is the largest ecosystem in South Africa, and the Karoo National Park also has the majesty of the Nuweveld Mountains. There are many scenic drives, guided walks as well as fossil trails within this spectacular park; some of which are accessible to wheelchair users. However you choose to see this park, you are in for a feast of amazing wild- and plant-life.  There is also a bird hide at the dam near the main rest camp.

There are different accommodation types in the Karoo National Park, whether it is the award winning camping or caravan sites, chalets or cottages and here is also full conference equipment and catering services. Breakfast is included in accommodation except for the campsites. There is also a fully licensed a la carte restaurant, curio shops and laundry facilities in the campsite.  There is a swimming pool for resident guests as well.
