Mariquensis | Groot Marico, North West Province
People are drawn to the Groot Marico area because of the uniqueness, the charm, the stories and the amazing people who make up the tight-knit and fascinating community. Mariquensis is attractive self catering accommodation that blends in well with the atmosphere of this magical place and is found on a farm about 5km from Groot Marico.
The name ‘Marico’ became famous because of Herman Charles Bosman’s writings of this amazing area, his love for the exquisite African bushveld, and the hospitality of the interesting people who work and live in the area.. Renowned for its Mampoer, this area is also known for its San and Bushmen paintings. The area also has an illustrious history, and just some of the many attractions in the area include an old watermill which is a national monument on the farm Naauwpoort and their annual art festival.
