Absolute nature lovers are the ones who adore going to Kosi Bay, a more remote part of KwaZulu-Natal. They appreciate getting away from the crowds, and enjoying the quiet beaches, the swaying palm trees, the lakes and waterways and the wild life. Kosi Bay is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site, Kosi Bay is known for its fantastic sightings of leatherback and loggerback turtles, and in fact the beaches of Kosi Bay are their traditional breeding ground.

The reason the Palm Tree Lodge is so popular is that it caters for people who love an unpretentious getaway where the emphasis is on nature.

Palm Tree Lodge is close to the main gate of the regional Parks Board offices and the aim of the lodge is to provide holidaymakers with a true sense of the African bushveld combined with the tropical vegetation of this area. Apart from the chalets at the lodge, there is also the opportunity for tents and camping as well as a caravan park. The Palm Tree Lodge takes you away from the stresses of life and puts you in touch with nature. It is for this reason that the lodge recommends the use of 4×4 vehicles as there are areas where the sand is thick. You can also arrange excursions to the different forests and game reserves in the area.
