Schoemans Cottage | near Graaff Reinet, Eastern Cape

Anyone who has travelled from the far northerly provinces will be delighted to know that travelling down to the coast there is a farm close to Graaff Reinet; some 30km away that is like a guiding light, guiding you to a time of relaxation before you set off on your journey again. Schoemans Cottage or Schoemans Huisie is a lovely cottage which was built in the time of 1870 on Waterval Farm near Graaff Reinet. Waterval is a working sheep, cattle and goat farm and there are wonderful hiking trails, horse riding, game- and bird watching as well as 4×4 routes.

Guests to Schoemans Cottage on Waterval Farm feel at peace in the beautiful surroundings and many long to stay longer than the time they booked for. There is no TV in Schoemans Cottage, but there is now a new cottage, Gryshuise, which is also wonderfully comfortable accommodation on this farm and it has a TV and DVD player. This gorgeous cottage has two bedrooms. Guests who stay at these lovely, unique and quaint cottages are in for an unforgettable experience.
